We hosted our first floristry workshop in May and it couldn't have gone better. 5 beautiful ladies joined us for an afternoon of learning how to make a hand tied bouquet and here's how it went.
I started the day by heading to Covent Garden Flower market to buy flowers for the workshop; I then arrived at the venue to set up. I got a beautifulkselection of seasonal blooms which consisted of hydrangeras, peonys, roses, freesias, lisianthus and wax flowers; tones of pinks and whites.
Everyone started to arrive just before 3pm which meant we were ready to start right on time. I started by talking the ladies through the flowers we were usuing and teaching them how to condition the flowers in order for them to have their best vase life. We then went through how to start making the bouquet, this can be quite fiddly when its your first time but everyone seemed to get the hang of it amazingly.
All 5 of the ladies I had on this workshop had a great creative eye, especially with it being their first attempt at a bouquet they did really well. Once they were all happy with their bouquets I took them through how to wrap their bouquets which they all found a bit harder. The wrapping can always be tricky but I was there to walk around and give all the ladies a hand.
Overall everyone left with a stunning bouquet and was confident to try making more bouquets with what skills they had learnt from the day.
